Friday, September 29.....Up at 7am. Today, we planned to take our time getting to Char's house, stopping in some of the little towns. We had breakfast and left at 8am. The weather is cool but clear. We had a non-eventful day of driving...going through the country side. The trees have not began to turn here but when they do, it should be beautiful. We arrived at Char's house at 3:30pm and it was good to see her. We went by the office and was able to see and visit with Michael a little. We toured the office...nice office. Once Michael got home, we went to a Turkish restaurant and had dinner. It was good and also plentiful....bringing some home.

Saturday.......We decided to go to the Neptune Fest at Virginia Beach today. This is an annual affair which has a large number of vendors, volleyball tournaments, the National Flag Football tournament and the National Sandcastle Building championship! A group was trying to break the Guinness world record of the tallest sandcastle object. Here is a picture......There were several entries and some were outstanding. Here is one of our favorite......We walked and walked and walked...you get the idea...about 5 and one half miles. We came home and settled in for the night. Char fixed us a great dinner.

Sunday....We went to church....good service.....good message and came home and had our left-overs from the previous two days. We sat around, read the paper, visited and watch some football games.

Monday....We were early and went out to see Char and Michael's new property where they will have a house built sometime next year. It is a very nice, flat and wooded acreage. We stopped at Wal-Mart for a little shopping. We then headed to Suffolk and had lunch at a little coffee shop and headed out to the Homearama, a series of new homes built by various builders. Some of these homes will be sold and the proceeds will be given to a charitable organization. We spent several hours going through these homes....from high $600s to over a mil. One home even had quarter mil of electronics. It was very interesting......but again, we walked and walked and walked......we are getting our exercise. We came back to Char's house and she ordered the new Pizza Hut offering....a lasagna pizza....good. This is a new pizza and Char and Michael tries each one to judge the pizza, since they work with several Pizza Huts around the area. We are having a great time with Char and Michael. OK and Nessi, their dog. Another evening of relaxing and visiting.

Tuesday.....we are getting ready to go to Williamsburg.

Again........see you later.....Love you all,

DAD and MOM
